Tony Parker wasn't playing for an All-Star invitation. He made a strong case just the same. Putting together his most dazzling game in three years -- and doing it against the NBA's hottest team, no less -- Parker scored 42 points and became the all-time franchise assists leader for the San Antonio Spurs in a 107-96 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night.

It wasn't that long ago the Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said Tim Duncan wouldn't play four games in five nights. In fact, Popovich said as much before such a stretch that ended with Thursday night's 93-81 win over New Orleans. Duncan played in all four games. The veteran power forward also seemed to get stronger as the games piled up, finishing up with 19 points and nine rebounds against the Hornets. "When you say Duncan will play, it just depends on how much people will play," Popovich said. "It's more a minutes thing rather than whether he plays or not." Kenyon Martin will join the Los Angeles Clippers, according to a report. The free-agent forward who bought himself out of his deal with a Chinese Basketball League team in December, will earn the team's mini-mid-level exception of $2.5 million, according to ESPNLA.com.

The San Antonio Spurs moved to a league-leading 12-1 at home with a 93-81 victory over the New Orleans Hornets on Thursday night. It was the second game of a back-to-back homestand for the Spurs, and despite the final score it was not an easy win.

Tim Duncan may not make the All-Star game for the first time in 12 years, or even give the San Antonio Spurs much scoring on most nights. But even in back-to-backs, he can still resemble his old self. Duncan scored 19 points, Tony Parker had had 18 and the Spurs ran away from the New Orleans Hornets in the fourth quarter to win their third in a row, 93-81 on Thursday night.
